Beijing, as the capital of China, has a rich history and cultural heritage. The Shichahai area, as one of the most representative attractions in Beijing, attracts countless tourists to explore. In this ancient lake area, I spent an unforgettable time and deeply felt the unique charm of this ancient city.
In the Shichahai area, there are three interconnected lakes: Qianhai, Houhai, and Xihai. I first arrived at Qianhai, and the beautiful lake and mountain scenery made me feel as if I were in a fairyland. The lake is clear and blue, surrounded by green mountains and picturesque scenery. Renting a small boat and roaming the lake allows you to appreciate the lake view while enjoying the coolness of the water.
The Shichahai area also preserves a large number of traditional hutongs, which have unique characteristics and are full of historical and cultural atmospheres. I walked slowly along the narrow hutongs, shuttling on the stone-paved roads, and felt the atmosphere of old Beijing. In the hutongs, I saw many quaint and charming quadrangle courtyards, where the residents live an ancient and leisurely life.
