Cheers to arriving at Hualien! Some people might say, what can possibly be exciting about such a tiny town? I could finish looking at it with a single glance. In fact, you haven't truly looked at Yang Bu Cha's guide carefully. The beauty of Hualien, even a week’s time wouldn’t allow you to fully experience it!

🔥History
🌸Hualien is the largest county in Taiwan, with an area of about 4628 square kilometers, and a population of around 350,000 people. On the east, it borders the vast Pacific Ocean, and on the west, the majestic Central Mountain Range. With towering mountains, blue skies, vast oceans, beautiful valleys, diverse cultural characteristics, and friendly and kind-hearted people, it has become the backyard of Taiwan.

🐟Carp Lake - The largest inland lake within Hualien County, it appears as a north-south lens-shaped lake with its area fluctuating due to the seasonal water volume. The lake was named after the carp mountain (鲤鱼山) located on the east side of it. A road circles the lake of about 4 kilometers, which can be completed on foot within 1 hour. Travelers can camp, picnic, and enjoy the lake here. When the climate is favorable, lovers of paragliding gather at the Carp Mountain, which adds enchanting colors between the peaks and the water. Every June, July, and August, they host a firefly season at Carp Lake, with twinkling lights scattered between the mountains and the lake.

🚲We rented a bike, pedaling along the Carp Lake for a complete round. The vegetation is lush, and the air is crisp. Halfway through, it started to drizzle. Riding in the rain, letting the rain blur the glasses, causing a foggy illusion, was quite an experience. You can also ride a boat on the lake around it!
