A Journey into the Soul of American History - A Travelogue of the Lincoln Memorial and the White House
In the nation's capital, Washington D.C., I embarked on a journey into the soul of history. Stepping back in time, I visited the Lincoln Memorial and the White House, two landmark buildings symbolizing the national image of the United States. In this place filled with stories and memories, I felt the interwoven allure of American history and reality.
The Lincoln Memorial was the first stop on my trip. As I stepped into this grand building, I was immediately awestruck by its imposing stature. Inside the memorial, it was as if I could see the towering figure of President Lincoln, his statue sitting solemnly within. Through the tall marble columns, I glimpsed the Reflecting Pool behind the memorial. The tranquil and beautiful waters seemed to narrate President Lincoln’s dedication and efforts for the nation.
Next, I visited the White House, the official residence of the American president. Throughout the visit, I was attracted by the grandeur and gravity of the White House's exterior.
